A bit about Sean…

Music Composer | Guitarist | Song Writer

Hailing from Karachi, and raised in Dubai, Sean was exposed to music at a very young age as music was always playing around the house. Growing older and listening to Metallica, Megadeath, Iron Maiden,AC/DC and Joe Satriani, it became clear that he wanted to play music for the rest of his life.

Sean received his first guitar as a gift from his Dad on his 13th birthday. Thus began his journey as a professional musician, spending countless hours learning and practicing, honing his craft. His flair for performance first emerged after he joined his local church’s youth group in Dubai, and it wasn’t long before he was jamming with new bands and touring around the country.

Being exposed to different styles of music and sharing ideas with people from different parts of the world helped shape his musical landscape.

At age 19, he moved to South Africa, joining rock band Irvine in 2003, and later founding hard rock/metal band The Reckoning in 2005 as lead singer and lead/rhythm guitarist.

Moving to Pakistan in 2006, Sean dove straight into the local music scene, as a session musician for Posthouse Productions and O2 Studios. During this time, he worked with renowned Pakistani artists including AZAL, Komal Rizvi and Faisal Ali Khan, and began to branch out into music production.

As lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Sean was a key member of Pakistani rock band Half an Eye from 2007 to 2009. Further developing his composing and improvisational skills writing original lyrics and music for several songs, many of which he then recorded and produced.

In 2012, his star continued to rise when he was chosen by Quratulain Balouch (‘QB’) as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for her nation-wide tour. The excitement of touring with one of the most talented stars of the Pakistani music industry was compounded by the amazing musical connections Sean made, playing with Ali Azmat from Junoon and Atif Aslam, amongst others.

Returning home to Dubai in 2013, Sean connected with the legendary Sajjad Ali and became his guitarist of choice, creating mesmerizing recordings and music videos.

In 2014, Sean performed with eminent singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan for a Fundraising Gala Dinner hosted by Imran Khan at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Since 2013, Sean has been the lead guitarist of Chronicles of Khan, a Dubai based rock band specialising in electric live performances. As co-creator of most songs, he is the lynchpin of the band and highly respected by his bandmates for his creativity, technical ability, versatility and crazy sense of humour.

Chronicles of Khan released their long-awaited debut EP, titled ‘Legacies and Bequests’ in 2019, with a launch event held at the Virgin MegaStore in Dubai Mall.

The band also created two incredible music videos for their singles ‘Joker’s Ball’ and ‘Halo’, which were heard on radios throughout the UAE during 2019. Halowas featured on the Virgin Out Loud compilation album.

Sean is currently licenced as a freelance composer and musician at Twofour54, a media free zone in Abu Dhabi.
